This Shivratri, 26th February 2025, Sewa TT once again embraced the spirit of service and compassion through our annual Food Pack Distribution Drive. This initiative not only serves as a means to support those in need but also plays a vital role in strengthening our emergency response systems. From resource collection to packaging and distribution, this drive allows our volunteers to practice and refine their skills in managing large-scale humanitarian efforts.
This year, however, presented unique challenges. Due to a decrease in donations compared to previous years, we were only able to produce 200 Food Packs, a significant reduction from the 800 packs distributed last year. As a result, we implemented Plan B, which involved partnering with a local supermarket to assemble the food packs. This adjustment allowed us to maximize efficiency while ensuring that the packs reached those who needed them most.
On the sacred night of Shivratri, our dedicated team of Sewa TT volunteers delivered these food packs to 13 mandirs across the region. In some cases, the packs were handed over to the mandir coordinators for distribution, while in others, our volunteers personally distributed them to those patiently waiting for alms in the sanctuary of the mandirs. Each pack symbolized not just nourishment but also a message of care and solidarity from the Sewa TT family.
This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and adaptability. While the scale of this year’s drive was smaller, the impact was no less meaningful. It reminded us that even in challenging times, we can come together to make a difference.
