This year, the Divali Nagar theme of “Grihasta Ashram: Householders’ Life” highlights the importance of family, responsibility, and community in Hindu culture. Grihasta Ashram, the second of the four ashrams in life, represents the stage of being a householder, where individuals take on duties to family and society, providing care, sustenance, and support. It is a time for building a life rooted in dharma (righteousness), charity, and service to others.
At Sewa International TT, we find deep alignment between the values embodied in Grihasta Ashram and our mission of selfless service (Sewa). As householders, we are not only tasked with caring for our families but also with contributing to the welfare of our wider community. Our projects—whether focused on health, education, disaster relief, or humanitarian work—are driven by the same principles that guide the life of a householder: compassion, responsibility, and action.
